Getting into the craft after the birthday party
They were quiet for a little while....
I still cant get over that I have a 5 year old – it sounds so old! We were going to have her birthday party at a park with a jumping castle but the weather was awful so I braved it and had 15 kids (and as many adults) crammed into my little house for her party:

The little one is growing up. Bridget has started Ballet lessons. She loves to tell everybody that she does Ballet and practices pointing her toes, and then spends the entire lesson running out of the room back to me! Oh well. She will stay in the lesson for more than 5 minutes sooner or later.
For those affected by the bushfires in Victoria. So far 35 people have been confirmed dead, including children. These are now the worst bushfires in Victorian history, surpassing the fires from Ash Wednesday in 1983.

Feeling hot, hot, hot.
Today was the second hottest day in all of South Australia’s recorded history. It reached a searing 45.8 degrees celsius (114 degrees farenheit) here today.
The road was melting. Literally. The tar used to repair the cracks was a glistening, melted mass. It was so hot it was hard to breathe outside. We have a week of searing hot weather to look forward to here in SA. The forecast for the next week looks like this:
